Ken is definitely an outside the box thinker. While most of your average American males are watching football (American or otherwise), he is designing businesses or business related tools.
Let me illustrate: while trying to get funding for BIG Images, Ken came up with the idea of selling glow sticks on the internet to reduce the potential operating costs of BIG Images. The idea, although not new, was a success. Glow Empire was born in under a month, and profitable in less than three. With the salaries of the partners taken care of, BIG Images’ start-up costs were significantly reduced.
As a start-up, BIG Images lacked roots. To solve this problem Ken founded SLOCAMA, the San Luis Obispo Creative and Marketing Alliance, with half a dozen other companies. The purpose of SLOCAMA is to create, inspire and educate a community of fellow marketing professionals. The reason Ken founded SLOCAMA was purely machiavellian. The organization was founded in 2004 and in that time, through its association, BIG Images has become the premier source for large-format printing for marketing professionals in San Luis Obispo.
Ken has an extensive background in sales, marketing and event planning and has traveled the world managing the trade show programs for many companies. (If you want to hear war stories ask him about New York's Jacob Javitt Center.)
Ken's professional affiliations are as follows:
