Jonathan Beebe

Jon Beebe

Jon Beebe is continuously exploring the unrealized potential of technology in everyday life. He is a graduate of the Industrial Technology program at Cal Poly and a self-taught computer programmer.

Jon once owned a coffee shop. About all that’s left of that is his insatiable love for espresso.

Beebe’s first endeavor out of college was Glow Empire. Partnering with Ken Pettit, they innovated an online business importing glow sticks from China and reselling them online. Success was largley based on unique production & packaging techniques, along with computer applications, automating the process of selling and shipping the products.

A few months later he co-founded BIG Images. At BIG Images the same skills were applied to print production, adding value for customers by innovating new processes and creating automated solutions to problems. The delicious:suite is the direct product of those innovations.

Jon Beebe also enjoys photography (he strives to take at least one picture for every day), he loves Illy coffee, chocolate, solving problems with AppleScript and ActionScript (and just about any other language he can get his hands on). He writes software, mountain bikes, takes pictures, is interested in things like math, color, philosophy and religion, and reading epic stories like Dune, The Ender’s Saga, and Lord of the Rings.

Ken Pettit

Natural-Born Entrepreneur & Trade Show Expert

Ken is definitely an outside the box thinker. While most of your average American males are watching football (American or otherwise), he is designing businesses or business related tools.

Let me illustrate: while trying to get funding for BIG Images, Ken came up with the idea of selling glow sticks on the internet to reduce the potential operating costs of BIG Images. The idea, although not new, was a success. Glow Empire was born in under a month, and profitable in less than three. With the salaries of the partners taken care of, BIG Images’ start-up costs were significantly reduced.

As a start-up, BIG Images lacked roots. To solve this problem Ken founded SLOCAMA, the San Luis Obispo Creative and Marketing Alliance, with half a dozen other companies. The purpose of SLOCAMA is to create, inspire and educate a community of fellow marketing professionals. The reason Ken founded SLOCAMA was purely machiavellian. The organization was founded in 2004 and in that time, through its association, BIG Images has become the premier source for large-format printing for marketing professionals in San Luis Obispo.

Ken has an extensive background in sales, marketing and event planning and has traveled the world managing the trade show programs for many companies. (If you want to hear war stories ask him about New York's Jacob Javitt Center.)

Ken's professional affiliations are as follows:

  • Founder - BIG Images
  • Founder - Delicious:suite
  • Founder/President - SLOCAMA (San Luis Obispo Creative and Marketing Alliance)
  • Executive board member - San Luis Obispo Symphony
  • Member - San Luis Obispo Symphony Marketing Commitee
